A Teeny Taste of Wales

Hey! We are on our way out of town and once again away from the great infoweb. Thought we'd leave a little record of what we've done so far, just so you can get the basics. As soon as time permits we will go back and post all of the details, stories and pictures. After avebury we went in search of crop circles, and yes, we found two. lots of stories and pictures from that adventure. also saw white horse sites. then a day's break to do laundry, rest and blog. then a day at stonehenge and on the road. then bath where we toured old roman baths and a day of driving. Stopped to take a great tour of an old castle (goodrich castle). Landed in Brecon, Wales where we stayed at the gremlin whose proprietress, Mary, was a very special older lady whom I will never forget. Used that place as a base for a couple of nights and went on a fantastic hike and got some good advice of backroads to take. left there and took a scenic drive west through wales to aberystwyth where we had inside information on harness racing. awesome! and for once, we were completely surrounded by locals, no other tourists. i won 45 pounds (about 90 dollars) on my first bet which paid our entry fee, food, the rest of our wagers and we still came out 20 pounds ahead on the day. checked in to a seaside B&B where we've spent the last two nights. yesterday walked around this charming town, spent alot of time online, and caught the sunset by the beach. walked into the evening, including exploring the ruins of aberystwyth castle which is just open to go in anytime (right on the beach, no one else was there, awesome). today: more walking, a meal, a little time on line, and now we are heading south along the welsh coast. love!!! -Asenath and Mark
