For yesterday and today's pictures of the day I will post two closer shots of the mosques you first saw a couple of days ago. In the first one you see fishermen's huts and boats (disassembled) in the foreground. I like this picture, because it shows a sense of how important religion is to the people here, seeing the elaborate mosque at the very center of the modest homes of the villiagers. These boats get taken apart and lashed back together between uses. The sea is so powerful and the waves so big. It is a little hard for me to imagine going out in a boat like this. We have had offers, though, for fishermen to take us out and along the coast and also snorkelling. I think we will have to go sooner or later. It sounds great, and I see the boats out there everyday. I don't think (fingers crossed) it will come apart while we're in it!
Religion on the Rocks

This second picture shows the mosques from the sea side. You can see the big rock foundation that the older mosque was built on, and you can glimpse the villiage stretching off behind.
And since you have been so good and given us so many comments I'm going to throw in a few more pictures and round out your viewing of this mosque. Here is a closer view of the small mosque and another that shows the villiage and mosque together:

And finally, this photo looks from the mosque back toward the lighthouse in the distance. We live in a neighborhood just beyond and up behind the lighthouse.
