Happy Fall, Ya'll!

Yes, it's been a while. I hope you all had a lovely September, I know it was an eventful one for some. The reason for the delay in posting is a hard drive failure on our computer, which ended up pushing us into upgrading, something Mark has been wanting to do for a while, since our old computer is slow, especially on games. We did also replace the hard drive in the old one, so now I have my own computer, which probably should have happened years ago and is very exciting, seeing as how much we use our computers!

Mark and I pretty much have seperate rooms at this point, which I know isn't usually considered to be a good sign, but is actually very cool for us at the moment. We still sleep in the same bed sometimes, but most of the time Finn and I sleep in one room and Mark in the other. What used to be bedroom and office have turned into Asenath and Mark's rooms respectively. Don't fear, for there is no trouble in paradise, and we're not planning on keeping this arrangement forever, but I have to say, it is a great feeling to me, and I think to Mark as well, to be the master of my domain in a room where I spend a lot of my time. Mark's room is full of bookshelves of books and his school work and computer and his guitar and is very Mark. My room is very me, with suncatchers and a goddess/angel banner and a huge collage I made. So I got my desk and computer set up in there, now and I feel as free as a teenager with their own car. It's kinda fun. And I can blog again!

So today Mark is sending off the first batch of job applications. As we may have told you, he is applying to every job for which he is qualified, which for the most part seem to be jobs in Religious Studies departments. Its exciting. There are several more that are due later in the month, and that will be the bulk of them, I think. A few more will continue to trickle in after October. I'll keep you posted as to how things are going. Here are the applications he is sending today:
University of North Carolina, Wilmington
University of North Carolina, Asheville
Siena College, near Albany, NY
Ithaca College, Ithaca NY
Wooster College, Wooster, Ohio
American University, Cairo, Egypt
Princeton University, Princeton, NJ (one year post-doc)
Georgia Gwinnett College, outside Atlanta, GA

So, some pretty good choices so far. We'll see what happens!

And now, here are some videos. Everything changes so fast, and since I've missed a blog, these videos are now older than John McCain's farts. Sorry, I'm in a weird mood. Finn is the king of flipping over, he does it over and over sometimes. He really perfected it this last weekend in Houston, where we had a great time hanging out and swimming and eating and visiting with the Houston peeps. But I did get a really great video of him trying when he was very first learning, one of his first times doing it. But I don't have access to that at the moment so I'll save it for next time. Here you will get to see one of his other talents: singing, as he enjoys a duet with Mark:

And one other little snippet of one of our recent Friday playgroups. Mary and Leo were out of town, and aren't pictured, but the rest of the gang is present.

And why not, a hand full of pics? These, as I said, are a little old now.

Hope you all had a great humpday and are enjoying some nice weather! Have a great week and get ready for Halloween!!!!
