Title
Hey-ho! Just a quick post here before Finn and I go out of town so he can meet his other living great-grandparent, Memaw. He's already gotten to meet Grandma Idler a couple of times.
Here are more updates on the job-search. New applications are going out this week to:
1.University of Nebraska, Lincoln
2. Albion College, Michigan
3. Transylvania University, Lexington, Kentucky
Also, Mark did not end up applying to Cairo, because he isn't sure it would be safe enough for our young family to live there, plus we have the dogs, plus we are not in full-adventure mode right now, more in settle mode. He said it isn't good to apply to jobs you know you won't take and he didn't want that one, and I'm a bit relieved, too, though it is hard for me to pass on an adventure, and I really hope to go there some day and see the pyramids!
Dang, I still can't locate the video of Finn learning to roll over a couple of weeks ago. Now he does it in one second, as soon as he hits his back, which makes diaper changes a little more challenging!! Here is some video from today of him engaging with Mojo while sitting in the Bumbo chair I got him yesterday. If you are not familiar with these chairs, they allow him to sit up, which he cannot yet do on his own. He seems to like it so far.
We've not been in much of a picture taking mode lately, so I don't really have any pictures to share.
I can't remember if I mentioned that my second art class has begun. This one is pottery, using the wheel, and tonight will be my fourth class. Each class is three hours. I've just made my first pots and a coffee cup for mark. Today I will put on the handles and do some finishing work. Then we'll glaze and fire them, meanwhile I'll still be making a few more. The class meets six times, so we are going into the second half of it. A cool thing is that for as long as I am in the class I can go to the studios any time from 9am-9pm to practice. I went yesterday for a couple of hours. I'm sort of starting to get the hang of it, but it takes a little while. Judging from the students ahead of me, once you get off and running you can progress more quickly than at first when you are getting the basics down. It is fun and very engaging.
The wireless has been set up for about a week now and Mark and I are still so into having our own computers. He's been spending all his free time playing video games in there, meanwhile I'm in here doing all my stuff online, reading blogs, shopping on craigslist, looking up things I'm learning about. It's been fantastic. I've even watched some of my own movies!
Mark came up with an idea for a Halloween costume for Finn, so hopefully I will start working on that when I get back from visiting Memaw, and maybe we will think of someplace to go so he can wear his costume on Halloween!!
That's the news. I hope you all have a great week!!
