6 Months Old, Today!

Which also means that Grayson is 2 months old and Elliot will be 4 months old tomorrow! Happy birthdays all around! Well, let me tell you a little bit about our banana baby. That is what Dr. Sears calls babies with Finn's body type, as opposed to apple or pear babies. Every passing month, Finn's height gets taller and farther off the chart while his weight falls to a lower percentage point. When he was born his weight was at the 95th percentile and his length was at about 60%. Those numbers quickly crossed paths and today stand totally reversed. His height, at 29 inches, is off the top of the charts, while his weight, just over 18 pounds, has dropped to a mere 65%. That's a banana baby for you. Banana or not, he sure does have some cheeks.


As things have progressed, it seems that the best days are ones which he naps easily, and days when he has a harder time falling asleep are harder on all of us. There seem to be about an equal number of each. And every day is a joy and a blessing to be with him, his precious laugh and sweet playfulness. He's growing up so much; he's looking more and more like a little boy, although no teeth yet. His personality becomes more evident as he interacts more and more with his environment. Now adays he grabs hold of everything within reach and leans in the direction he wants to go. And here is a sequence Mark took of the little dude in his pj's.



And finally, here is Finn eating his first food, organic Apple Sauce. The face says it all. He wasn't sure what to make of it, and seems to have found it somewhat tart, although he kept going back for more! I didn't realize how fun it would be to feed him!
